Okay, diese humorig-knappe Selbstbeschreibung via Facebook sagt eigentlich alles. Und irgendwie auch nix.
So ganz ernst scheinen Sandlotkids weder sich noch ihre Musik zu nehmen, anders ist es kaum zu erklären, dass sich das Emorock-Quintett aus der bayrischen Landeshauptstadt hinter Gang-Pseudonymen wie „T-Dog“, „Shosho“, „Fabsl“, „Cookie“ und „Carl“ versteckt. Dabei haben die absolut kitschfreien, angenehm daher rockenden Songs – seit Bandgründung im Jahr 2013 sind etwa eine Handvoll Singles und EPs (digital) erschienen – durchaus mindestens nationale Indie-Klasse.
Besonders schön: diese Version des Songs „Super Bowl“, den Sandlotkids seines Zeichens im vergangenen Oktober als Teil ihrer jüngsten Single veröffentlichten, und im Februar diesen Jahres bei einer reduzierten Session in der Zentrale ihres Hamburger Labels „Zeitstrafe“ zum Besten gaben:
