Dass die ohnehin stets umtriebige Amanda Palmer (deren neues Album „There Will Me No Intermission„, das erste Solo-Werk seit „Theatre Is Evil“ von 2012, im Übrigen morgen erscheint) immer für die ein oder andere Kollaboration mit anderen Künstlern gut ist? Nix Neues.
Der gemeinsam mit der 21-jährigen südafrikanischen Hip-Hop-Musikerin Patty Monroe, welche gebürtig Megan Steenkamp heißt und aus den Suburbs von Kapstadt stammt, aufgenommene Song „Fighter“, den die Ex-Dresden-Dolls-Vorsteherin vor ziemlich einem Jahr online präsentierte (jaja, auch mir geht bei Mrs. Palmer mal das Eine oder Andere durch die Lauschlappen…), überrascht denn doch. Und ist nichtsdestotrotz einmal mehr große Piano-Kunst – sowohl, was die Instrumentierung betrifft (vom Pop-Faktor könnte das Stück auch einer Rihanna gut zu Gesicht stehen), als auch was die Botschaft anbelangt… Gehört gehört!
