Song des Tages: Damien Rice & Cantus Domus – „It Takes A Lot To Know A Man“

Zwar liegt Damien Rices umjubelte Rückkehr in Form seines dritten Albums „My Favourite Faded Fantasy“ nun auch bereits wieder vier Lenze zurück, ich selbst tue mich – ich geb’s ja zu – jedoch noch immer schwer mit der Einschätzung – sowohl was das Lyrische als auch was das Musikalische und vor allem Emotionale betrifft.

Umbestritten groß ist der irische Troubadour aber immer noch und vor allem auf Bühnenbrettern – also dort, wo dich seine Musik unumwunden und direkt ins Hörerherz treffen kann. Wer also je die Möglichkeit haben sollte, eine seiner (nicht eben vielen) Shows zu besuchen, der sollte das tun.

Oder sich eben jene besondere Version des Songs „It Takes A Lot To Know A Man“ (vom Album „My Favourite Faded Fantasy“) zu Gemüte führen, welche der 44-jährige Singer/Songwriter im Oktober 2016 anlässlich und als Teil des (von der Idee her ebenfalls sehr besonderen) Michelberger Music Festivals gemeinsam mit dem Berliner Chor Cantus Domus zum Besten gab. Gänsehaut, welche sich sogleich über die bei Rice’schen Stücken ohnehin bereits zuhauf vorhandene Hühnerpelle legt, dürfte garantiert sein…

 

 

Selbes Venue, dieselben Musiker – jedoch eine noch speziellere Idee: das Stück wird „One to One“ dargeboten. Oder wie es in der Beschreibung heißt:

„It was in Oct. 2016, in Berlin, during Michelberger Music. Between each show of the festival, we were kidnapping a person in the audience, which we were taking to a secret room where an artist was waiting. Between the two of them, a unique experience : a One To One concert.“

Das Ergebnis? Wow.
